NCFREE Association released its 2019-2020 Legislative Business Rankings.
Legislature’s economic budget policies created a boom decade in North Carolina.
RALEIGH, N.C. – The influential N.C. Free Enterprise Foundation (NCFREE) gave Senator Chuck Edwards (R-Henderson) top marks in its annual Legislative Business Rankings report.
On objective measures, Senator Edwards earned a perfect score of 100 for the 2020 long session for consistently exhibiting strong support for free enterprise as a business-minded legislator. The final rating provides a straightforward metric: the closer the rating is to 100, the more aligned with the principles of free enterprise that legislator was during the 2019-2020 biennium of the NC General Assembly. The bills and votes used are based on confidential input from a group of more than 300 business leaders, business trade association executives, and government affairs professionals.
The rankings reflect Senator Edwards’ commitment to free enterprise, an open economy, and a strong business climate of North Carolina. The legislature’s budget and tax policies created a boom decade in North Carolina, leading to soaring job growth and making the state one of the most desirable in the country.
“North Carolina has become one of the fastest-growing economies and best states for business. Our commitment to increase take-home pay for working people and attracting investments in our workforce continues to draw rapid population growth and cutting-edge industries to North Carolina,” said Sen. Edwards. “As a small businessman myself, I am proud to receive this high endorsement by the North Carolina Free Enterprise Foundation.” Edwards went on to say.
NCFREE is “the premier research organization in the state seeking to provide non-partisan analysis of the political landscape and its impact on North Carolina’s business environment.”
