Legislators to Hold Oversight Hearing on Housing and Utility Assistance Programs

Raleigh, N.C. – On Wednesday, Nov. 17, the Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations' Subcommittee on Use and Distribution of Federal COVID Funding will hold a hearing to discuss housing and utility assistance programs.
The subcommittee will hear from representatives of the United Way of North Carolina, North Carolina Realtors, the Lumbee Tribe, and DreamKey Partners. They'll also hear from Laura Hogshead, the chief operating officer of the North Carolina Office of Recovery and Resiliency (NCORR).
Senators are expected to hear how the N.C. HOPE Program and other assistance programs impacted renters and landlords, as well as potential improvements to the programs.
An audio stream and video stream of the hearing will be available on the General Assembly's website. The meeting will be held in the Legislative Building's Auditorium starting at 9 a.m.
