As a small-business owner in Western North Carolina and a community servant, Edwards said he understands the challenges small-business owners face in today’s economy. Burdensome regulations make it harder for businesses to grow and expand or create new jobs.
Since arriving in the Senate in 2016, Edwards has worked to reduce obstacles to economic growth and supported tax reform that gave North Carolina one of the best business tax climates in the nation, the release states.
Looking back at his current and first term in office, Edwards said the legislature is still in session and there is still work to be done, including passage of a state budget.
“In legislation, like business, it’s not necessarily about what you get done, but what you did,” he said.
