On September 20th the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidates forum at the Transylvania County Library. Even though he confirmed that he would attend, he did not appear. Senator Chuck Edwards is a Western North Carolina native, attended West Henderson High School, and Blue Ridge Community College. He has served as State Senator for District 48 since 2016, and is a self-employed businessman.
Chuck also currently serves as Director of the Daniel Boone Boy Scout Council, Director of the Community Foundation Henderson County, is a member of the Hendersonville Rotary Club, Buncombe County Wildlife Club, Asheville Rifle & Pistol Club, the National Rifle Association, MountainTrue, NC Friends of Plant Conservation, Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, and Conserving Carolina, and is a paid Director for Entegra Financial Corp.
He has served as Chair of the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Hendersonville Business Advisory Committee. He is past Board Members of the Friends of the Ecusta Trail, Vice President of Henderson County Partners for Economic Progress, and served on the Henderson County Planning Board.
Chuck is currently a member of four chambers of commerce; Brevard/Transylvania, Henderson County, Haywood County, and Asheville, and is a member of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, Carolina Real Estate Investor’s Association, NC Self Storage Association, and the NC Banker’s Association. He is a past President of GSA, Inc. Advertising Association.
